Our Relationship
how we met…
After spending a few months living down in Phoenix, Arizona with my sister and her fiance, it was decided quite abruptly that I was going to move back home to Oregon. The day after I got back in to town, a couple of good friends decided to take me out for a good “Welcome Home” celebration. We started, and ended, the night at a local bar, The Dam, which wasn’t too amazing to me, as the whole “bar scene” wasn’t quite my thing. That evening is when we met, after I some how got the nerve to introduce myself to him. “HI! I’m Jess. Who are you?” I said with a smile… then he stole my drink.
We had our first walk that night. About 1a.m. we all decided to venture to a friends house. With too many people to fit into the few cars we had, Michael put his right arm out and said “Hold on tight for safety!” and away we were, up the slick hills. It was such a peaceful walk, and it really made me see that something was special about this guy!
Needless to say, we have been pretty inseparable since.
our engagement…
Michael and I knew from the beginning that what we had was something very special, something that was going to be around for a long time. We always talked about marriage, and kids, but it was never officially an “engagement” until June 4, 2008. I was at home, not having the best day. Michael had been out with a couple of friends, fishing if I remember correctly. When he came home, he came right over to me and stuck the ring under my nose. It was the perfect thing to brighten up my day! It may not have been your usual engagement, but, that is how he wanted to do it, and it fit him so well! I began planning things immediately, and everything figured out for our wedding, April 4, 2009 in Las Vegas… until news of the baby… now plans have changed slightly, news to come!
our future plans…
With the baby on the way, we have decided that a big wedding just isn’t the best option for us. We have tossed around the idea of just going to the court house, and enjoying a weekend away together somewhere. Or possibly a very intimate ceremony on the beach with a few family and friends. It’s still up in the air as of right now. Any news will surely be passed on!
Our baby is due June 17, 2009. This is our priority on top of anything else at the moment. It’s been so exciting so far, but the real excitement is yet to come. We are both so anxious to meet our little one.
