Our Kids

Throughout both of our lives, we have had pets that have been our best friends, and our #1 companions. We knew when we finally got our own place that we would want to have some pets of our own, our kids!

Tiger was the first member of our family. He was meant to be a surprise for me, but I’m not sure if Michael just couldn’t keep it a secret because he wanted me to know, or because he was more excited then I would be! He always said, if we ever get a cat, it has to be an orange tiger, no matter what. That’s what he found! Through a good friend of ours, we were able to bring Tiger home in April of 2008. When he was a young kitten, he had quite the personality. He would get what we call “Tiger eyes” and you could tell he was ready to go crazy. Now that he is a more mature (neutered) cat, he is a lot calmer, and a lot more lovable. Tiger is my buddy, always wanting to snuggle and share his purrs.

Our little Torro

Torro is the second addition to our little family. He is a purebred teacup Chihuahua. We were able to get Torro through a coworker of mine who happens to breed them. We had discussed getting a puppy for a while, but knew it was best to wait until we didn’t have another dog to deal with. Unfortunately, that thought came true, and we had to put my old family dog Dusty down, who Michael and I had adopted as our own. It was very hard for both of us to deal with, and we new that we needed to get a new little companion to fill our hearts. I had seen Torro when he was first born - my coworker had brought the litter in to work to keep an eye on them. He was just so little and fat, I fell in love instantly. I knew Michael wouldn’t be too keen on the idea of such a small dog, but I decided to work my charm anyways. Sure enough, he gave in.

On July 17th 2008, after returning from my sisters wedding in Yosemite, we picked our little Torro up and brought him home. He is such a loving dog. If you don’t feel good, he is curled up beside you. When he hears the keys jingle, he knows it’s time for a ride. Hopefully after the weather clears up, we will be able to work on some training with him, and make him the best little puppy we could ask for!100_0395

Snuggle Up!

Our kids are the best of friends. There are not a lot of times where one is around you without the other. We are very lucky to have pets that love each other and get along so well. They are the best of playmates, and keep each other company quite well when Michael and I are at work.
